$50.00 Fee for all members and non-members
Registration closes on the Friday before the event.
Payment can be made:
(1) Online with credit card
(2) By check mailed to FBOA's PO Box (PO Box 80152, Akron, OH 44308) with a copy of the online invoice.
(3) By check or cash during check-in at the door the day of the event.
Checks can be made out to F.B.O.A. (Five County Building Officials Association)
Cancellations can be made up until July 30th, 2026 so food can be ordered on 7/31.
Certificates will be provided to participants at the conclusion of the presentation.
When registering, ensure you "complete" your registration before leaving the website. If you do not receive a confirmation email, registration was not completed.

About the FBOA Training:
The morning session will be presented by Tim Royer, PE of the National Frame Building Association. He will cover the design and construction of post frame structures with (4) 1hr classes covering: the introduction of post frame building systems; their structural design; wall columns, bracing and sheathing; critical connections and firewall and code references. - BBS2026-498, BBS2026-490, BBS2026-491, & BBS2026-492.
The afternoon session will be presented by Jason Corwin of the State Fire Marshal's office. He will cover updates to the 2025 OFC with his 4hr BBS approved course - BBS2026-475.
About the Presenters:
Post Frame Building Systems - Tim Royer, PE founded Timber Tech Engineering in 1990. Timber Tech Engineering, LLC specializes in the design of post-frame buildings and Tim is a licensed engineer in 37 states. He graduated from the Pennsylvania State University in 1983 with a B.S. degree in Agricultural Engineering with a Structures Emphasis. During his 40+ years of engineering practice, he has won several awards including The Sunkist Young Designer Award from the American Society of Agricultural Engineers in 1992, has been inducted into the Rural Builder Hall of Fame in 2006, and received the Bernon G Perkins Award from NFBA in 2023. He is a member of the National Frame Building Association where he is a Director on the Board of Directors, serves as Chairman of the Technical and Research Committee, a member of the Editorial Review Committee, and is currently Treasure of their Atlantic Northeast Chapter
2025 OFC Updates - Jason Corwin serves as the Southwest District Chief for the Code Enforcement Bureau at the State(Ohio) Fire Marshal’s Office. With more than 25 years in the fire service, Jason brings a deep commitment to fire prevention and community safety. Since joining the State Fire Marshal’s Office in 2010, he has focused on advancing fire safety education, strengthening inspection practices, and supporting departments across Ohio in their code enforcement efforts. Known for his practical experience, collaborative approach, and passion for public service, Jason continues to play a key role in promoting safe environments through effective fire code administration and outreach
About the Venue:
Guy's Party Center is located off of I-77, a few minutes south of downtown Akron on E. Waterloo Rd. This full-day event will be split into morning and afternoon session. Doors open at 7am for registration with the morning session beginning at 7:30am. A full buffet lunch with dessert will be provided around 11:30 am. Coffee, Tea, Water, Lemonade, and Soda will be available during the day. Pastries will be provided for breakfast and breaks during the morning and afternoon sessions. The afternoon session will begin as soon as lunch finishes and the day is expected to end around 4pm.
