Registration is required
Payment In Full In Advance Only
Class is open to all interested parties.
$50.00 Fee for all members and non-members
Registration closes on the Friday before the event.
Payment can be made:
(1) Online with credit card
(2) By check mailed to FBOA's PO Box (PO Box 80152, Akron, OH 44308) with a copy of the online invoice.
(3) By check or cash during check-in at the door the day of the event.
Checks can be made out to F.B.O.A. (Five County Building Officials Association)
Cancellations can be made up until May 30th, 2025, at the close of registration.

Certificates will be provided to participants at the conclusion of the presentation.

When registering, ensure you "complete" your registration before leaving the website. If you do not receive a confirmation email, registration was not completed.

About the FBOA Training:
Education will be presented by Josh Harmon of Shums Coda Associates(SCA) covering "Residential Plan Review". He will review the basic steps involved to complete a comprehensive review of a residence and lead a discussion on the tools and process for a residential plan review.  Comparisons will be made between the 2019 RCO and the 2024 IRC. 6 hours of ICC credit will be provided.

About the Presenter:

Josh Harmon’s career in building code enforcement and government program administration spans 23 years and both local and regional organizations. He holds multiple International Code Council (ICC) certifications and designations including those of Certified Sustainability Professional and Certified Building Official. His experience in program development, administration, and the effective use of technology to support code implementation and outreach add considerable value to the Shums Coda Associate's team and modern code compliance efforts

About the Venue:
Guy's Party Center
 is located off of I-77, a few minutes south of downtown Akron on E. Waterloo Rd. This full-day event will be split into (1) morning class and (2) afternoon classes. A full buffet lunch with dessert will be provided around 11:30 am. Coffee, Tea, Water, Lemonade, and Soda will be available during the day.  Pastries will be provided for breakfast and breaks during the morning and afternoon sessions.
