(4) The $30 registration fee will also apply to active members if they register on or after September 26th. This is the day a final head count is provided to the event center.

About the FBOA Meeting and Training:
The "Building Science for Building Officials" training is being presented by Robert De Vries of Nu-Wool Co., LLC at Guy's Party Center. He will be explaining the science behind many of today's construction techniques and building materials. Lunch is served after elections for FBOA's 2026 executive officers and board members at noon. FBOA's 2025 Board will meet beforehand at 10:30am.
About the Presenter:
Robert De Vries has been in the building industry for over Forty years and has been giving AIA talks for over 15 years. He is also an approved building official course provider in Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Tennessee. Along with the AIA and Building official programs Robert has developed instructional programs for insulation installers in the areas of HVAC loads and fireplace and flue installation as it pertains to their work. For the last five years Robert has been presenting to groups such as USGB chapters and Home Builder groups a program that explains
life cycle analysis. Robert is an ASTM member serving on several committees. C16 on Thermal insulation, and E06 on Performance of Buildings and a charter member of E60 on Sustainability. Robert is certified as a Building Analyst, Infiltration and Duct Leakage and Envelope Professional as well as a testing proctor for both designations from the Buildings Performance Institute. Robert developed a training program and test center for the BPI Building Analyst and Envelope Professional.
About the Venue:
Guy's Party Center is located off of I-77 a few minutes south of downtown Akron on E. Waterloo Rd. This is an extended lunch and learn event. Doors open at 11:30am and class will begin after lunch. A full buffet lunch with dessert will be provided after elections scheduled for noon.
