About this event

The purpose of the course is to train individuals on the procedures for performing substantial damage determinations for structures who have received damage due to flood, wind, fire, etc. Part 1 course will include classroom training on an overview of the requirements of the RCO and OBC for structures located in a special flood hazard area, ODNR requirements and FEMA requirements for floodplain management and reconstruction. The course will also discuss employer acknowledgment to participate with the Damage Assessment Response Team (DART) OBOA will maintain a list of personnel who have completed both parts of the course and received employer acknowledgment in the form of a MOU. The class will provide three hours of Board of Building Standards continuing education credits. BBS2024-487
